May 10 - Veal Awareness Day Table

Every year on Mother's Day, a day for honoring the maternal bond, concerned citizens across the United States organize activities to raise awareness about the cruel fate of baby calves who are taken from their mothers and exploited for veal production. These unfortunate babies are confined for their entire lives in crates so small that they cannot walk or even turn around, and they are fed a diet that is deficient in iron and designed to produce anemia and the pale-colored flesh sold as veal.

GMAD is putting on a tabling event on Church Street in Burlington to educate the public about Veal Awareness Day, which is over Mother’s Day Weekend. The table will be on Saturday, May 10th.

May 17 - Garage Sale to Benefit Green Mountain Animal Defenders

When: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: 118 Baycrest Dr., South Burlington

A full 100% of the proceeds will go to Green Mountain Animal Defenders
