GMAD is Vermont’s largest all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, animal advocacy organization. Since 1983, we have been accomplishing our mission by:
- Maintaining an all-volunteer organization which allows donated funds to directly benefit animals
- Educating the public through outreach efforts, media relations campaigns & other special events
- Incorporating a unique internship program which captures the energy and enthusiasm of students and trains them to become effective animal protection advocates
- Sponsoring spay/neuter programs
- Offering referrals for re-homing and adoptions
- Managing and activating a grass roots network of animal protection advocates throughout the state to support animal protection legislation
- Providing rescue and transportation services for animals, including wildlife
- Sponsoring the Vermont Animal Cruelty Response System’s toll-free telephone number: 1-877-9 HUMANE
PLEASE NOTE: GMAD has no paid employees. The directors volunteer from their homes. This means that more of your contributions go directly to helping animals since there are very low administrative costs.
